Wendy celebrated her last Christmas on earth in 1993 because she rode with a drunk driver before Christmas 1994
Please, Don't drink and drive during the holidays
Christmas is a season of celebration, good will and good cheer
and a time when children are in our thoughts and on our minds.
It is a time when families gather to share love, gifts and the
pleasure of bonding in observance of Jesus Christ's birthday.
My grandchildren, Jonathan and Samantha, celebrated the last
Christmas with their mother, Wendy, in 1993. The joy expressed
in the Christmas globe was their last to share with their mother.
Unfortunately, Wendy got into a car with a drunk driver during the
early holiday season of 1994 and lost her life on Dec.5th.
On that fateful day in 1994 I lost my only child to a drunk.
Please . . don't drink and drive during the holidays and never
make the mistake of risking your life by riding with a drunk.
How Do You Live Your Dash?
![]()
Wendy Lynn
(l964-l994)
I read of a man who stood to speak
At the funeral of a friend.
He referred to the dates on her tombstone
From the beginning..to the end.
He noted that first came her date of birth
And spoke the following date with tears, 1964-1994
But he said what mattered most of all
Was the dash between those years.
For that dash represents all the time
That she spent alive on earth..
And now only those who loved her
Know what that little line is worth.
For it matters not, how much we own;
The cars..the house..the cash,
What matters is how we live and love
And how we spend our dash.
So think about this long and hard.
Are there things you'd like to change?
For you never know how much time is left,
That can still be rearranged.
If we could just slow down enough
To consider what's true and real,
And always try to understand
The way other people feel.
And be less quick to anger,
And show appreciation more
And love the people in our lives
Like we've never loved before.
If we treat each other with respect,
And more often wear a smile..
Remembering that this special dash
Might only last a little while.
So, when your eulogy's being read
With your life's actions to rehash..
Would you be proud of the things they say
About how you spent your dash?

The Family In The Globe
![]()
The family in the globe aren't together anymore.
'Cause Mommy went to heaven,
It's with angel wings she soars.
The kids in the globe have grown a lot.
Since Mommy went away,
Each was just a little tot,
It was a fateful day.
How do you tell a three year old?
Her Mommies gone away,
She's walking now on streets of gold.
Yes, she's gone to stay.
Decisions sometimes can be bad,
And Mommies make them too.
The endings can be sad.
Yes, she's looking down on you.
( The above is an unfinished piece which came to mind while constructing this page.)
